JR COACH TRAINING
The Philadelphia Youth Sports Collaborative (PYSC) member organizations that offer character-building and life skills training within the framework of healthy physical development. A pioneer in the country, it augments the impact of local non profit organizations that use sports to benefit children and youth, particularly those from under-resourced environments. Collectively, these groups offer a range of sports activities such as cycling, golf, ice hockey, lacrosse, martial arts, riding, rowing, running, soccer, squash, and tennis.
The PYSC Jr. Coach summer career exploration program is led by Zhang Sah in partnership with the Philadelphia Youth Network (PYN) and others with the goal to introduce young athletes to the career of coaching in their sport of choice. We use Sports Based Youth Development and Positive Coaching strategies along with career readiness training through this rich summer experiential opportunity.

MOST SPORTS+
Most Sports – Plus (Middle School Out of School Time Sports Plus) is a collaboration with Philadelphia Parks and Recreation, (Parks and Recreation) Philadelphia Department of Human Services (DHS) and Public Health Management Corporation (PHMC) with the goal to create a geographically and financially accessible M OST opportunity for middle school age kids that need it the M OST during the time of their lives that has the M OST impact.
The goal of this multi-sport youth development program is to support the overall wellness of middle school age children. Program design creates meaningful opportunity for positive youth development, physical fitness, and academic achievement. There are three pillars integrated within the programming to achieve the desired impact. The pillars are: athletics including martial arts, academic support, and youth directed activities focused on improved life skills and engaging in positive relationships with both adults and peers. We use a project-based learning approach (PBL) as the primary sport season framework to deliver youth directed athletics and club implementation.
Youth Council annually elects a vice president and president to represent the youth of Zhang Sah and serve on the board committee. The council discusses current events, trends and other relevant issues while establishing a voice in the community. Teen council provides an opportunity for teens to acquire leadership training with support from Zhang Sah’s team of instructors, teachers and staff.

Our commitment to our mission requires special attention to the lives of our students and goes beyond just paying for classes, passing tests, and earning rank. Individuals who train at Zhang Sah have chosen to do so not only as a way to attain/maintain physical fitness or build/refine techniques, but also to perfect their character through experiencing new and balanced ways of being and approaching life.
Students at this level of programming will gain proficiency in the full Budo experience, which combines techniques from Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Judo, and Aikido.
